This is a video of a proof-of-concept demo of the J2ME (Java) mobile phone software receiving musical information from a central server and being used as a musical instrument. The 3001:MMMI software will be somewhat different. We will update this video as we progress in development. You can see the player (Chris Kuscinski) triggering sounds on the phone itself while the conductor (Josh Knowles) selects from different instruments, volumes, and chords from the web (seen in the background). 3001:MMMI is about taking this sort of collaborative interaction and extending it to larger groups of people.
